Quick answer
A 7-day Munsiyari tour from Kathgodam breaks the long drive at Binsar and Chaukori, then spends three nights in Sarmoli village facing the Panchachuli peaks, with a Khaliya Top hike at about 3,500 m. It costs from ₹24,500 per person. March to June and October to December are best.
Trip Overview
At 2,200 m in eastern Kumaon, Munsiyari looks straight across the Gori Ganga valley at the five Panchachuli peaks. We break the 275 km journey with nights at Binsar's oak forest and Chaukori's tea ridge, so no day on the road runs beyond five hours until the return.
In Sarmoli village you stay in women-run homestays, eat Kumaoni food such as bhatt ki churkani, and walk to Khaliya Top's alpine meadows. Add the Tribal Heritage Museum, Birthi Falls and a morning with a local birder, and you have a Himalayan week with no crowds.
